We have a border collie named Guapo, horses, ducks and lots of cats (that are not allowed inside) at Bois-le-Comte.
The horses stay outside all year round and grass is their staple food. None of the horses have iron shoes and we ride them without a bit.
Sometimes people ask us if they can ride our horses too. Unfortunately this is not possible: we are not insured and bitless outdoor riding requires a consistent approach which, as we learned by experience, works much better when there is just one rider for one horse. (But we know a place nearby where you can have beautiful rides: > Relais équestre des Récolets.)
