La Ferme du Bois-le-Comte is a great place for walkers, bikers, herbalists, ornithologists and other lovers of nature.
The region (the Gaume) is known as the 'Belgian Provence' because of its mild climate. (It is still Belgium of course. Nights remain cool, reed beds remain lush and green even in hot, dry Summers.)
Did you know that thanks to its genial micro-climate the Gaume is a region rich in bio-diversity? On our land we have found plants, butterflies, bees and birds that are rare in the rest of Belgium.
The surroundings are stunning and offer lots of possibilities apart from hiking and cycling: swimming or kayakking on the Semois, the abbey of Orval, the cathedral of Avioth, the castle of Bouillon, the fortress of Montmédy, charming medieval towns like Sedan, local markets. Even Luxemburg city is only a 1 hour drive away.
Check out more recreational facilities and places worth seeing in the neighbourhood.
Welcome all year round
Each season has its own atmosphere and each stay will be different.
In Spring nature is at its most beautiful with abundant green and yellow shades. After a day out and a dish of tasty nettle soup you will feel filled with new energy.
The warmth of Summer opens a wide range of new possibilities for an exciting day out: swimming, kayaking, markets, festivals, cultural performances, walking, cycling ... This season has a lot to offer to young and old.
In Autumn, the colours and the light in the forests are stunning. The days are still long enough for a nice trip and in the evening you can warm yourself with a hot cup of tea or a glass of wine by the warm fire.
Winter offers most space, quiet and stillness. It is the ideal time to retreat away from all noise and to take time for yourself. A walk in the snow or the cold, lucid air will relax and inspire you.
